About Us

Flyteam Aviation was established in June 1990 at Leavesden aerodrome with only one aircraft and approximately 10 members.

Flyteam soon increased its members to 35 and added another aircraft to its fleet.

In 1994 unfortunately Leavesden was shut down and we then moved to Elstree aerodrome where we concentrated our efforts to self-fly hire and expanded our fleet to include all the Cessna family with a C-150, C-152, C-172 and also a Piper Warrior PA28-161, Piper Archer PA 28-180, Piper Arrow PA28-180R, Twin-engine AZTEC PA23-250 and BULLDOG.

Today we have over 600 members and our operations centre at Cranfield Airport is dedicated to most types of training ranging from PPL to Multi-Engine rating as well as self fly-hire. Flight training is undertaken at both Elstree Aerodrome and Cranfield Airport which is a larger licensed airport with excellent facilities such as longer Dual Runways, full Air Traffic Control, navigational aids and landing aids.

Our flying club consists of a variety of members ranging from different backgrounds with a multitude of experience. Eve for example is the oldest registered female PPL pilot in the UK. Josh, on the other hand was once the youngest registered PPL pilot in the UK, and is now an airline pilot.
